No one, especially a child, should have to worry about whether they will have food on their plate or a roof over their head. But the reality is that hunger and homelessness affect far too many people, and there are more than 1000 children living below the poverty line right here in Lake Elsinore.
With these very grave statistics in mind, we developed an adopt a family for Christmas program, because no child should be sad on Christmas, but we can’t do this without your help.
An ornament that represents each child available for “adoption” hangs from our “Christmas Hope Tree” in the Café. We encourage everyone who attends Elsinore First to select an ornament from the tree to “adopt” a child . You will be provided with the child’s gender, age, and interest list so you can purchase their gifts for Christmas.
If you would prefer to give a monetary donation to help us purchase gifts on your behalf or to go towards the boxes of food we provide each family, just write “Christmas Hope” on the check memo line or in the notes when giving online.
All gifts need to be brought to the church unwrapped no later than Sunday, December 7th.
On Saturday, December 13th at 10 am we will have a “Wrapping and Prayer Party” to wrap the gifts and pray for the recipients.
Gifts for each child and a box of food for the family will be given out after our Christmas Program on Sunday, December 14th.
If you have any questions or want to know more about how you can help, contact the church office or stop by the Christmas Hope Table in the Café.
